Ray Giles
Vice President

Photo of Ray GilesRay Giles, the new Vice President of The College Brain Trust, has been active in the California Community Colleges since 1974 when he became the first public information officer at Merced College.

Since that time, he has served in various administrative positions at Fresno City College, Los Rios Community College District, and Rancho Santiago CCD.  Ray served for two years as director of education services for the California Community College Trustees Association.

Most recently, he was Vice President of the Community College League of California, the statewide association of all 110 public two-year colleges in California where he was responsible for the development and management of programs and services that benefit California’s community colleges.

He comes to CBT after two years as business development director for Dale Scott & Co., a San Francisco financial advisor to K-14 districts.

Ray is co-author of Insider’s Guide to Community College Administration (Community College Press), a publication of the American Association of Community Colleges written to help administrators and faculty understand the challenges facing college leaders.  It is currently used at colleges and universities around the nation in professional development courses and programs.

Ray graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Jose State University.  He and his wife, Kathy, live in Roseville.
