Increasing Grant Funding

OBJECTIVE
Adequately resourcing effective, innovative, and emerging educational programs and services in a college’s district is essential to surmounting the current economic downturn and to position it for future opportunities.

METHODS TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVE
Identify and prioritize opportunities. Methods include:

  1. Prepare and deliver a half-day workshop for leadership, and designated staff, to evaluate the existing grant portfolio and identify/prioritize grant funding needs and goals.
    1. Set goals with leadership;
    2. Using one on one interviews, research innovative, exceptional, and emerging programs that may qualify for grant funding; and
    3. Conduct workshop.
  2. Create a workshop outcomes report, that includes:

    1. Documentation of workshop discussions;
    2. Prioritized projects/programs for grant funding;
    3. Responsible parties;
    4. Potential grant partners and funding sources that correspond to funding priorities; and
    5. Suggested services in a second phase as “next steps”.

DELIVERABLES
Deliverables include the following components:

  1. A half-day workshop to identify funding needs/priorities and
  2. A workshop report regarding grant project priorities, potential funding sources, and suggestions for a second phase (next steps that may include grant writing training; grant writing; and/or grant implementation, monitoring, and evaluation services).
