MARIE KANE is the Superintendent/President Emeritus of Chaffey College, where she served for 6.5 years until August, 2007. Prior to her Chaffey experience, Dr. Kane was President of Phoenix College in Arizona for 8 years, Provost at Riverside Community College for 3 years, and Dean of Instruction for San Joaquin Delta College for 5 years. Since her retirement from Chaffey College in 2007, she has consulted in the areas of leadership, conflict resolution, board development and self-evaluation, strategic planning, educational master planning. Additionally, she has experience in facilities development and master planning.
Currently, in addition to her work with CBT, Dr. Kane is a consultant with the Association of Community College Trustees, conducting CEO searches and retreats for boards of trustees. She holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Mathematics Education, a M.S. from Lamar University and a B.A. from the University of Texas, both in Mathematics.
Dr. Kane has served as a board member for local, state and national organizations, including the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, the California Community College CEO organization, and the National Institute for Leadership Development.
