Mary Kay Kickels

Photo of Mary Kay KickelsMARY KAY KICKELS served as president of Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona from 2004 to 2008. Since that time she has worked actively as a consultant, providing consulting services, technical assistance, leadership and organizational development for colleges, universities and organizations, including: The Developmental Education Initiative, Gates & Lumina Foundation; The Higher Education Council, Educational Testing Service; The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management; The Leadership Academy; the Community College Enterprise; The League for Innovation Executive Leadership Institute, and others.

Her campus career has included serving as senior vice president of academic affairs at Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois and as vice president of education planning and management development for Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc. in Chicago. She has been a presenter at the League for Innovation’s Executive Leadership Institute, DePaul University in Chicago and at Northern Illinois University.

Kickels earned her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Northern Illinois University. She was awarded an Ford Foundation Fellowship at the Institute for Education Leadership in Washington, D.C.
