Eileen Kraskouskas
EILEEN KRASKOUSKAS retired as Dean of Career and Technical Education from MiraCosta College in 2006. Hers is a diverse career that includes thirty years of work experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to her term at MiraCosta, she held management and staff positions with the California Office of the Auditor General, Wells Fargo Bank, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. She conducted research on program planning and curriculum innovation for the University of California at Berkeley, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the Office of the Auditor General and the Massachusetts Board of Regents of Higher Education.
Eileen has served as a consultant on career and technical education to dozens of community colleges across the United States. Her professional activities include four years as Vice President of the California Community College Association of Occupational Educators, three years as a member of the Oceanside Economic Development Commission and participation on program planning advisory boards for a variety of emerging technologies, e.g., renewable energy, biotechnology and environmental technology.
Her areas of expertise include the following.
- Program planning for career and technical education
- Administration of grants supported by Karl Perkins funds
- Curriculum innovation
- Institutional strategies to prevent sexual harassment
She attended Wells College where she majored in German, followed by a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from Syracuse University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and an Ed.D. from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.
