Dr. George Boggs, the President & CEO Emeritus of the American Association of Community Colleges, has joined the College Brain Trust (CBT) as a consultant and project leader.

“I am pleased to join a nationally-respected consulting firm and impressed with the quality, professionalism, and creativity of the CBT consultants. I am proud to join their team to continue to serve community colleges,” said Dr. Boggs.

Dr. Boggs will join Rocky Young, former Chancellor of the Los Angeles Community College District and CBT Chief Consultant, and Patrick McCallum, the President of CBT, to provide direction and strategic vision for the three-year old national community college consulting firm.

“This is a critical time for our colleges as they struggle to provide services to growing numbers of students in an environment of declining state resources. It is important for colleges to maximize the efficient use of resources through proper planning and to compete successfully for grant funds,” Dr. Boggs continued.

From 2000 to 2010 Dr. Boggs served as President and CEO of the American Association of Community Colleges in Washington, D.C. He has for many years been recognized as the leading voice of the community college movement providing leadership on a number of issues, including workforce development, leadership development, accountability, student learning and success, science and math instruction, and promoting the development of community colleges around the world.

Prior to serving as President & CEO of AACC, Dr. Boggs served for 15 years as Superintendent//President of Palomar College in San Marcos, California. He began his career at Butte College (California) as a chemistry professor.
