President Glandon comments on work of College Brain Trust consultants

Dr. Bert Glandon, President of College of Western Idaho, praised the work of the College Brain Trust consultant team that helped the new college develop an Educational Master Plan and a Comprehensive Strategic Plan.

Said Dr. Glandon, “Being a new community college, we began the process with the College Brain Trust having limited board policies and a developing comprehensive administrative structure. We had to develop a campus culture that required merging a university culture with a brand new community college staff that had never worked together.

“The Brain Trust consultant team, led by Rocky Young and Eva Conrad, were excellent. In fact, there wasn’t a single person on their 13-member team that wasn’t a huge asset to the process and to our college.

“Structurally, the Brain Trust’s strategy of meeting with individual department and individual groups was important of keeping of us together. They helped get us position ourselves where we needed to be to move forward in the years ahead. We wouldn’t be where we are today, after the Brain Trust completed its work, if we had done anything different. The guidance and direction Rocky, Eva and the Brain Trust team provided was extremely valuable to CWI.

“Finally, the Albertson Foundation, which funded this project, was extremely pleased. We all agree the Brain Trust was a valuable resource that has made a significant difference in CWI present situation and our future success.”
