New Projects Underway in November

The College Brain Trust is beginning two new projects this month at the State Center Community College District and the West Valley-Mission Community College District.

State Center CCD

The team of Drs. Robert Jensen and Frances (Fran) White and Mike Brandy and Ray Giles conduct a comprehensive review of the district-wide organization and centralized services as well as the bookstores and foodservices with the goal of helping the district improve organizational efficiency.

The organizational review process will include an aggressive effort to survey and interview both the providers of centralized services as well as their “customers” to gather information and insights and to ensure that all parties believe, at the end of the process, that they have been listened to and consulted. This approach will promote understanding and support for the recommendations included in the final report.

West Valley-Mission CCD

A six-person College Brain Trust team, headed by Dr. Shirley Kelly, will prepare a District-wide Strategic Plan that will help guide West Valley-Mission CCD’s future program and fiscal decision-making. From an analysis of relevant data that describe the District’s internal and external current status and future trends, the District-wide Strategic Plan will craft institutional strategic directions as well as strategic directions specific to each college and educational program, including identifying new education programs that match the changing demographics of the district and its regional service area.

Other members of the team include CBT’s Chief Consultant Rocky Young, Randal Lawson, Pat Griffin, Cy Gulassa, and special consultant Robert Gamble.
